Good well-being requires respect and trust for each other

The work for equality, inclusion and diversity is a natural part of Scania's work. Here we read about how Line 5 in the Assembly works within these areas.
- It's important to see everyone as an individual in order for a group to work, says Filip Lindén Löfgren, Teamleader at Line 5 in the Assembly.
The work to ensure that equality, inclusion and diversity is a natural part of Scania's work.
- It is important to actively promote this in the daily work, by conducting a constant dialogue and creating security so that everyone dares to tell if something has happened, says Group Manager Mikael Gustavsson.
- A prerequisite for good well-being is to respect each other and build long-term trust. By seeing and talking to everyone in the group, we create a sense of security and everyone then dares to raise different issues, Filip continues.
- Thanks to Scania's great commitment and focus on equality, inclusion and diversity, everyone is aware of its importance and we are now talking much more about this," says Mikael.
Warming to see
To create a good group dynamic a present leadership is required.
- Presence is a prerequisite for being able to get to know everyone in the group, create trust in each other and be able to pick up on things in the group early on if necessary, says Mikael.
Close-knit group
To help in their work on equality, inclusion and diversity, there are tools such as the discussion game Equality & Inclusion Game. In the activities, the topic is also raised daily at pulse meetings.
- Because we are a close-knit group, most of whom have worked together for six years or more, we have a great deal of trust in each other and can openly discuss various issues. At the same time, it is good to be able to use tools to shed light on different issues, says Filip.
Having fun together
Erica Svensson, Josefine Johansson and Karl Ährlin are assemblers. They agree that the atmosphere in the group is very good.
- We are as much friends as colleagues and have fun together, says Erica.
- I think we are very inclusive, you never feel uncomfortable, and we have a good dialogue and communication, Karl continues.
The fact that employees feel a great sense of community means that they also socialize and have activities outside of work.
- In our spare time, we sometimes go out to eat together, bowl, play laser games, paintball, floorball and do many other things. We also usually surprise when someone has a birthday and even then have activities together, says Josefine.
- For me, who has worked as a Group Manager for more than 20 years on various lines, it's nice to see a group after so many years that still has such a great friendship and does things together even in their spare time, Mikael concludes.
