Also gracing this ceremony was Datuk Jazmanie bin Shafawi, Deputy Director General, Planning and Operations, Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Siti Zaharah binti Ishak, Director-General, Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS).

“The Malaysian Road Safety Plan (MRSP) 2022-2030 has set a vision to make Malaysia a country with zero road fatality as a proof of the Government’s continuous commitment to elevate road safety and protect the welfare of all road users in Malaysia. We also need to engender the culture of road safety towards the nation’s prosperity. The key success in achieving all the targets as outlined in this plan is highly dependent on the support, commitment, and cooperation of all stakeholders. Therefore, I would like to applaud both Scania and Ekspres Perdana for the continued strong partnership towards a safer and more sustainable transport system,” stated YB Datuk Haji Hasbi.
“We chose to expand our fleet of express buses with Scania’s New Bus Generation Euro 5 because it provides the best safety features in the industry as standard. The LDW as part of ADAS will help to reduce the risk of accidents on the road. These 60 units of coaches will provide the best safety and comfort for our passengers and drivers on the road. They will also contribute to better fuel efficiency and sustainability for our business,” stated Tuan Haji Laili.
“Road safety is high on the agenda for Scania and in many markets including Malaysia. We consider Electronic Braking System (EBS) and Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) to be the next step in enhancing the standard of safety as they have been proven to be effective in reducing traffic accidents. We hope that the country, the industry and our customers will partner with us in bringing more of the best safety technologies to Malaysia,” says Joyce Antar.
