8 August 2019, SARAWAK – Biaramas Express Sdn Bhd (Biaramas), the operator of Bus Asia is the first express bus operator in Sarawak to sign the Scania Ecolution agreement with Scania Malaysia as their commitment towards reducing their fleet’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

Scania Ecolution is a tailor-made partnership between Scania and customers that helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. This is achieved through vehicle optimisation and agreed fuel and CO2 emissions reduction targets. The progress to reach the targets will be regularly monitored, evaluated and discussed with the Scania Ecolution Manager to ensure the desired result. Scania Ecolution focuses on reducing operating cost translated to improved profitability while fulfilling the growing demand for green initiatives.

Biaramas General Manager, Lai Sin Kiong revealed the Scania Ecolution sticker on the buses at Kuching Sentral Bus Terminal. These stickers on the buses signify Biaramas’ commitment towards reducing CO2 emissions. Passengers can identify vehicles through these stickers and be assured that they are contributing to a greener environment.

Under Biaramas, Bus Asia has a proven track record for delivering excellent bus service throughout the major cities within Borneo island. Amongst others, the bus services travel to Kuching, Sarikei, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri, Limbang, Pontianak in Indonesia, and Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei.
