Autonomous trucks go commercial
Scania is a leading light in the commercialisation of autonomous transport. In 2024 the company passed a milestone in its development of this exciting technology when it opened its order book for self-driving mining trucks for the first time.

Scania’s autonomous mining trucks can operate near-continuously all-day-round, no matter the conditions, which increases productivity; driverless trucks reduce safety risks while also addressing the industry’s persistent driver shortages; and, a mixture of smart maintenance capabilities and fuel-efficient journeys make it both environmentally and economically beneficial to use autonomous vehicles.
