Anupam drives ‘transformation’ with SAP
12 MARCH 2025
Anupam Goyal is central to Scania’s ongoing industrial operational transformation journey using SAP. Under his leadership he has streamlined processes, and automated workflows, shaping a more efficient and connected future.
Anupam joined Scania as an SAP Finance Solution Architect on June 1, 2018. His role quickly evolved, and he became the Lead SAP Finance Solution Architect with a strategic vision. In this capacity, Anupam ensured that Scania's financial processes aligned seamlessly with the standard SAP framework, a leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool used globally. Building on his expertise and contributions, Anupam now enters a new role. In January 2025, he took on the position of Head of Finance Core and Group Manager, where he will continue to drive Scania’s financial and technological strategies forward.
The importance of SAP in the automotive industry
In the evolving automotive industry, staying ahead of technological trends is crucial. Anupam emphasises the importance of the megatrend in the industry, which involves leveraging advanced technological platforms like SAP to enhance efficiency and innovation. As part of the TRATON Group, Scania is committed to integrating SAP across its operations, ensuring consistency and connectivity within the group.
Anupam's work is critical to our success, as the decisions and processes implemented now will shape Scania's future for the next decade or more. He ensures that our financial systems are robust, standardised, and capable of adapting to the fast-paced changes in the industry. He has since seen the successful launch of the SAP system in the new battery assembly factory in Södertälje, Sweden. And several other projects are in the pipeline including the new industrial hub setup in China.
"I joined Scania because I wanted to be part of the transformation journey Scania has embarked on. It allows me to learn, and work on the strategies for the future. I get a holistic view of how the company operates, gaining deeper insights into how Scania is organised and conducts its business," says Anupam.
He is enthusiastic about the company's commitment to fostering an empowering work environment. He values the culture of trust, respect, and inclusion at Scania, which helps him take ownership of his work and grow professionally. This inclusive and supportive culture has made him feel at home, even as a non-native Swedish speaker.
Framing life through different perspectives
Outside work, Anupam lives in Stockholm with his wife and two daughters. His hobbies revolve around spending quality time with his family and capturing beautiful moments through his love for photography. He is drawn to landscape and architectural photography, which allows him to see the world from different angles.
To drive transformation at Scania marks a significant milestone in his career, and he is grateful for Scania's commitment to personal and professional growth. We look forward to seeing Anupam continue to lead and innovate, helping Scania navigate the challenges and opportunities of the ever-changing automotive industry.
