This May our TruckEast colleagues are taking on the mighty hike around the Norfolk coastline, all to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support!
This challenge is not for the faint-hearted. Thousands of dedicated participants will be heading out from Cromer and hiking through fishing villages, over beaches, and through marshland to get to the finish line at Holkham Hall. It will take courage and dedication to complete, but it’s all in aid of an incredible cause, Macmillan, who provide support, information, and services to help people live with cancer as fully as possible.
Our 31 colleagues at TruckEast have been training hard, joining local hiking groups, taking part in long Sunday strolls, open water swimming and climbing steep hills to prepare themselves. 25 of our team will be taking on the full marathon and 6 will be tackling the 14-mile, half across two days. Taking anywhere between 7.5 and 12 hours, our colleagues will be navigating windy conditions, and trekking through sand, mud, shale, and grass to try and raise as much money as they can for this phenomenal charity.
Macmillan Cancer Support care for those who need it most through their support line, Cancer centres, support workers, grants, and well-being programme, which continues to provide life-changing care for individuals and families affected by Cancer. Right now, nearly 3.5 million people are living with cancer in the UK which is projected to rise to 4 million by 2030. Macmillan provide physical, financial, and emotional support, no matter what a person’s needs are.
If you can help support our colleagues on their marathon challenge, any donations for Macmillan would be hugely appreciated. You can visit their Just Giving page here.
