Finnish defence buys all-wheel-drive trucks from Scania
Via its Finnish subsidiary Oy Scan-Auto Ab Scania has sold all-wheel-drive off-road vehicles to the Finnish defence for delivery during 2009 and 2010. The order is yet another proof of the success of Scania’s concept of standard trucks that with some adaptations can be used for special-purpose tasks. The agreement covers twenty-one vehicles including repair and maintenance agreements, training and documentation via Scania’s Finnish distributor network, as well as an option for another four units.

Summary of Capital Markets Day: Scania planning for 150,000 vehicles in 2015
Selling 150,000 vehicles per year by around 2015 is Scania’s vision for the next decade. This growth will occur in an expanding total market and by means of a greater presence in markets and in segments where there is potential for increased sales of Scania vehicles and services. The road to 150,000 vehicles will also go via continued capital-efficient utilisation of Scania’s development and production resources.
